about

Recorded March 1996 on analog 4-track at Fort Hazel.
Previously released on Kady O'Gee (FHM008, 1996).
The title of this composition refers to the rhythms used in the piece. It begins and ends with a happy march, connected by an alluring swing bridge in the middle. The E-Bow guitar with slide was an attempt to get the sound of the Theremin, widely used in The Lost Weekend score by Miklós Rózsa.

lyrics

It's going to be so hard to write. Love is the hardest thing in the world to write about. You've got to catch it through details, like the early morning sunlight hitting the gray tin of the rain spout behind Grandma's house, the ringing of a telephone that sounds like Beethoven's Pastoral, the letter scribbled on her office stationery that you carry around in your pocket because it smells like all the lilacs in Ohio.
